The Saddleworth & District Whit Friday Brass Band Contests takes place every year on the Friday nearest to Whit, this year it was the 16th May.
The area has a strong tradition of Brass Band Music and many bands are from local villages. However the competition has grown over more than a hundred years and bands now take part from all over the globe.
The contests involves the bands travelling to various villages around the area and playing 2 pieces out in the open.
